Since nearly every news channel had at least one reporter stationed at the intersection of South End Ave and West Thames, it was fairly easy for us to keep tabs on the state of things at our building.
Needless to say, we packed up and left the high ground of our posh emergency accomodations at One Fifth Ave to return to Battery Park City. After dodging a few police barricades and patrol vehicles, we arrived safely at home.
