I recently purchased a Red Oxalis (aka Shamrock or Woodsorrel) to add to the collection of beautiful weeds I have around the house. Large deep purple shamrock leaves with delicate pink blooms – both of which close every evening and reopen fully in the morning.

For my own future reference:
Bright Light. Let soil dry between waterings. Cool temps (60-70°), especially when blooming. Requires 2-3 months dormancy (dark and cool) after every major blooming cycle. Tubers can be separated or repotted after dormant period.
Hello,
Your site came up in a search for red shamrock. I just purchased 2 from a local amish greenhouse but have no clue how or where to plant them. The girls told me they thought they preferred sun & sounds like that’s so from your info. Are they fairly hardy over winter or do they require any special care (southern PA)? Have you ever grown one indoors as a house plant? Appreciate any info you can give me!
